Privacy Policy

Gas On The Go (“the app,” “we,” “us”) helps you find gas prices near you. This policy explains what information the app uses, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. We don't sell your personal information.

1. Information the app uses

• Location. With your permission, the app uses your device's location to find gas stations near you. Your iPhone turns your location into a ZIP code, and the app sends that ZIP code and the fuel type you picked to our price server to look up prices. To show your city name, the app sends your approximate coordinates to OpenStreetMap's place-lookup service. We don't keep a history of your location, and we don't sell it.
• Usage and device information. We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used — for example, when the app is installed or opened, how long it's used, which screens are viewed, your device model, iOS version, approximate region (from your IP address), and a random app-instance ID. This helps us fix problems and improve the app. It is not used to identify you by name.
• Advertising information. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may use device information, and — only if you allow tracking when the app asks — your device's advertising identifier, to show and measure ads.
• Information on your device only. Your settings, favorite stations, fill-up log, and price-alert settings are stored only on your iPhone.
• No account. The app doesn't require an account, and we don't collect your name, email, or phone number. If you email us, we receive your email address and message so we can reply.

2. Who we share information with

We share only what each service needs to work:

• Our price server (hosted on Cloudflare) receives your ZIP code and fuel type — and, like any internet connection, your IP address. It doesn't keep a log of who asked. Prices are cached so many users share one lookup.
• Gas price data provider (Zyla Labs) receives the ZIP code and fuel type from our server — not your identity or exact location.
• Google Firebase Analytics — usage and device information, as described above. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google AdMob — advertising, as described above. Manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
• Map services — map images come from Esri, and place names from OpenStreetMap / Nominatim. These services receive the map area being viewed or your approximate coordinates, plus your IP address.
• Apple — turns your location into a ZIP code, handles subscriptions and payments, and provides CarPlay and Apple Maps directions.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

3. Subscriptions

Optional subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. You can manage or cancel anytime in iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. How long information is kept

Cached prices on our server expire within days. Analytics data is kept by Google for up to 14 months, then deleted automatically. Information stored on your iPhone stays there until you delete the app.

5. Your choices and rights

• Location: turn it on or off in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
• Ad tracking: allow or deny when asked, or change it in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
• Ad consent (EU, UK, and other regions where required): the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads, and you can change it anytime in the app under Settings > Privacy choices.
• Notifications: price alerts can be turned off in the app or in iPhone Settings > Notifications.
• Delete your data: deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. To ask us to delete analytics data tied to your device, or to access it, email support@gasonthego.app. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK, or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the use of your information — email us and we'll help. We don't sell your personal information. Showing personalized ads through AdMob may count as “sharing” under some state privacy laws; you can turn that off by denying tracking, through Privacy choices where offered, or by emailing us.

6. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we'll delete it.

7. Security

Information sent between the app and our server uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we keep what we handle to a minimum.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
